Poway Woman's Club donated the bronze sculptures to the Poway Community Library. The sculptures are dedicated to children of all ages.

The sculptures, one depicting a young girl reading a book, and the other of a young boy carrying a Harry Potter book and typical stick, were created by Ardel Uvon Bloomquist, a local artist. The formal presentation of both statues occured on 8/26/00.
